Heartbreak

Would you like to know what tears at my heart and makes me want to cry?

It is the fact that the one who died for us has been simply passed off with a sigh.

He hung high on the cross to pay for our sins but we too often continue to sin.

Each of us chooses to follow him in our own way claiming a prize to win.

This should not surprise me for he said that this would come to pass.

Some speak in tongues, some go to Wednesday night meetings and some simply go to mass.

We, each of us have chosen our path but somehow we too often forget.

The end of our journey is to take us each to Heaven with our Lord on his thrown to sit.

He told us, “You think I came to bring peace, but I came to drive a sword between you.”

Little did we know the division would not simply be those who do not believe in Jesus and those who truly do?

For the division that cuts through our religious world today is between Gods’s very own.

We all believe in the same Jesus Christ but we place more emphasis on what we condone.

We say, "You do not believe the way I do so you must be headed for Hell."

We do not try to understand the things our brothers and sisters may have to tell.

Is it any wonder that our Lords prophecy has come to pass as he told it?

“There will be a great falling away from the truth,” he said and he was not kidding, not a little bit.

Why the falling away from the truth?  Maybe it is because we have let ourselves become divided one from the other.

We should not stress our differences so much as we should love one another like Sister and Brother.
