This was inspired as I noticed that the days are shorter and the temperatures are falling in preparation of winter which will soon bring frost, snow and wind. I saw the leaves on the maple tree in front of our house shaking as if they were shivering in the cold. The real cold is yet to come but the leaves by then will be gone. Yet, even in this sight I cannot help but see Gods work.

The Autumn Leaves Shiver

As I awoke this morning and looked out my window

I noticed it was not as light.  Where did the summer go?

I saw the trees standing in the cool autumn air.

They were not standing still for their limbs shook everywhere.

I saw the leaves shivering in the cool breeze of autumn.

In the background I saw the darkened sky, a sight that was so awesome.

For the sun had not yet cleared the mountains in the east.

The sky was gray a prisoner of the darkness, begging for release.

As the day grows on the gray stayed as if saying, “I have control for now.”

It is autumn and I know that winter will follow soon and as leaves drop, the trees seem to bow.

For they will soon sleep throughout the cold winter months ahead.

It will seem at times as if they and the flowers have joined the dead.

What joy waits for us when spring comes to call them back to life again.

A part of nature that reminds us of the resurrection and of Gods forgiveness for sin.

So let us enjoy every season and every day of the year

For everyday that God gives us is a gift for us to hold dear.

"So let us enjoy every season and every day of the year
For everyday that God gives us is a gift for us to hold dear." And I would add to that, let us enjoy every single moment while it lasts, for exact moments cannot be repeated!
Indeed, Lew, you have captured a special moment as you looked out of your window.

God Bless
