Missed Opportunities

The years have truly taken their toll

And they came and they went by as if on a roll.

Now I see the reflection in the mirror of man grown old.

I am no longer the young scamp who always felt self-assured and bold.

Now as I look back I have wonderful memories.

Amidst them, I must admit there are some sad stories.

Times when I could have made a powerful change in the life of another.

But, alas I was too wrapped up in myself to care enough for my brother.

Now, I look back and wish I could live it all again

That way, I could fine tune my life and see things done as they should have been.

My Lord and master will not allow me to live this life anew.

But his forgiveness washes away those sins and failures and he can do the same for you.

He does ask of us one thing, though.  He asks us to honestly admit our past and present sin.

Once we do this, he will be forgiving and honorable and allow us to start again.

Learn from the mistakes you make each day for we all will surely do so.

Then lay those problems on God’s shoulders as through each day we go.

Christians are not perfect.  Christians are forgiven!
