Don’t Be an Impersonator!

Are you a true follower of Christ, if so how does it show?

Even more important to you my friend is do you honestly within your own heart know?

Here is a question that I ask myself over and over again.

If I follow the Ten Commandments is that a complete lack of sin?

If I give all what I have to the poor, that in itself earns me no place in Heaven

Unless I give it because of a true love of God, Jesus and of my brethren.

What I am trying to convey to you is motive means more than the deed.

If we follow our Lord, do well to others and feed and house those who are in need

This is a good thing and it is our Fathers wish that we would serve him thus.

But he wants to look within our hearts and he asks, “What is it that you lust?”

To make my point a bit clearer it was written in the word that works alone was useless

Unless it is motivated by a true love for God and others and not simply so we are blessed.

Give to the poor but remember that God has given us what we have to give.

So when we give we are only passing on his gift to us.  For this we should strive to live.

So, my friend do not impersonate a Christian be to what you can be.

Until the day Jesus comes through the clouds take the hands of you and me.
