The Oceans Tides

I have not been to the ocean for quite a while but something caused me to dwell on happy days when a day at the ocean was my greatest joy. I have seen many changes taking place in my lifetime. Now there are violent storms. The Earth has grown warmer due to the greenhouse affect. There are many people who argue whether man had anything to do with it or if it was just a part of the Earths constant changing. Either way, we need to be careful how we treat the planet for we know not how long God intends for us to stay here.

The Oceans Tides

I have wonderful memories that go back to childhood days.
They once were vivid but are now seen as in a haze.
The ocean tide comes washing ashore.
It washes upon the sand and is followed by one more.
The tide seems to wash away the sand
But somehow the next wave comes to land

It replaces the sand that was moved off shore.
As I watched over the white crest of each wave I could see more.
They never stop their constant movement and their energy never dies.
If I look far enough over the wave I see the skies.
The clouds just above the water are misty and gray.
It seems as if by the water they are content to stay.
Higher up in the sky the color is blue and the sun shines bright.
Soon comes the sunset followed by the night.
Then goes on the constant singing of the oceans cry
It’s a relaxing chant to my ears as I study the stars in the sky.
The waves come and go but they are followed by more.
They wash in and rush out but others are in store.
We need to protect this for it is one of Gods greatest creations.
The waves come and go to all of Earths nations.

Such a captivating poem, Lew. Your descriptive words bring back wonderful memories of my husband and me on the beaches of Hawaii. The waves there are so compelling and beautiful, and the melodious roar they give were enchantment to our ears!

Thank you for this beautiful poem.

Micke

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
