I know something that comforts me more than I can say. God is more than a person, an entity, he is a power. He is nature. He is in every cloud, every leaf, and every tree from which a leaf falls in the autumn. He is also the moon, the sun, the void of space and the very DNA makes up my body. Maybe that is why the bible tells us he made us in his image. But whatever, he is life itself. Does anyone want to walk away from that?
How Can I praise you?
I sing hymns of love and grace and declare undying love for you.
Although I sing, I never feel as if I have praised enough, no matter what I say or do.
I tell the world of your wondrous love but talk is cheap and echoes only a fleeting second.
The distance between us is so great that I find I cannot reach you when I am beckoned.
Oh Lord, I am so grateful that your long arms are reaching for me.
For if they did not it would be a fearful life for I would know not where I’d be.
I could preach and tell the world about my Lord who holds my soul within his arms.
But, as I have said, “talk is cheap,” and sometimes even meaningless.
I try to express to those around me how much you comfort me when I am in distress.
I praise you for you patience and because you help me learn from living.
Praising you simply is not enough for; just like you I want to be one who is giving
To those who need and those with tears and those who think you are not there.
Because your love for me has saved my soul, I feel that I need to work for others.
Singing praises to your holy name is not enough unless it touches the hearts of my sisters and my brothers.
However I will continue to praise you, thanking you for every day you have given me.
If I help just one sad person find you how grateful I will be.
I pray I can touch one life in the name of the Lord my God and Jesus, his only Son.
Then I will humbly praise in silence for my eternity has begun.
God Bless
