There have been many times when I felt alone. I felt this in spite of the love of my wife and children as well as my friends, I was facing an emptiness which ate at my very soul. I look back on those times now and realize that my Lord was always there and calling but I did not hear. One wonderful day, I recognized his voice and his comfort helps me over even the hardest of times.
I walked the path I choose or thought I did.
I trudged along through the dark and cold.
I found that as down the path I tread
I felt more lost, confused and old.
One day to my great joy I saw him walking with me.
I wondered why it was that before I did not see.
It was the Son of God who walked with me.
Had he just joined me in my walk?
Had he simply come on that day to talk?
Had he been with me all along?
But I could not hear his heavenly song?
Now that I see him walking by my side
I find that from his glorious love I cannot hide.
Nor do I want to run away from such love.
For Jesus came to me from above
To show me what true love can do.
He is here for me and also for you.
He once hung on the cross high above the crowd.
As the sky was darkened the thunder rumbled loud.
When the light was once again restored
only a few mourned the death of our Lord.
But death had not enough power to create an end.
For it was for this purpose his son God did send.
He defeated death to mark the way
And that is why he walks with me each day.
As my hand reached to accept his hand
I realized that without him I could not stand.
He gently guided me in Heavens direction.
Life has many paths for our selection.
But now I know that if I go the wrong way
God’s Son, Jesus Christ will simply say,
“Watch thy step for I will not let you fall.”
When he comes to you I pray you will hear his call.
