It’s kind of funny. I may start out simply reflecting upon the beauty all around me. It could be the moon, the sun. It could be trees in autumn or spring flowers blooming. I always end up praising God and thanking him for his wondrous love. There is no escaping it. All that is, is a reflection of our creator.
I have watched the moon rise over the sea
I have watched the light sprinkle for us to see.
The light bounces off the caps of the waves as they flow.
Creating the appearance of moving mountains topped with snow.
The moons sole purpose is not to create such a sight.
For it is an instrument to replace darkness with light
I contemplate the fact that moonlight bouncing off the sea in my direction
Is not the moons own light but simply a reflection.
That light is created by the sun which bounces off the moon toward my eye.
I can see it fully visible at times and sometimes hidden by the clouds in the sky.
Then there are times when the moon sheds no light,
It hides behind the earths shadow completely out of sight.
Even when the moon is darkened it still affects the tides.
Its pull creates the sound of the waves as the ocean rides.
The ocean dances in the darkness sometimes enhanced by the light.
This creates a beautiful and glorious sight.
The sun and the moon are like father and son.
The moon is a reminder that we still have the sun.
This is what Jesus is like to you and to me.
He came reflecting Gods love that we may all see
“See what?” you may ask. Gods love which eternally will be.
Jesus said, “no one comes to the Father except through me.
Yea and amen, Brother! You make my heart dance, Lew!
We were BORN to praise HIM at ALL times, and in ALL things, Hallelujah!
I spend my whole day, pointing these little things out to others..some are amazed [wow, I never thought of that before!], while some are put off [yeah..right.] But it is ours to show the Way to them, through our own thankfulness and praise!
A lovely poem and reminder, Lew, yet so many listen, but do not hear. I like what James says: "Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." James 1:22. Lately, as I search Scripture, I'm blown away by its revelations, so much so that I have to revisit my own past traditions with the hope of reforming. If not now, when? Not many these days want to face the truth; they would rather remain steeped in untruths because it makes them feel good. Pity!
Oh how beautiful this one is...I love it for it is very inspiring...I love the line;
He came reflecting God's love that we may all see...
this is so true. God's love is eternal for us, afterall we are all his children...and I am glad that I made plans to see him a long time ago...27 years to be exact, never found anything or a reason to turn back. Great write...given the readers much to think about.
