There are preachers in churches and on TV and people everywhere you go who want to know if you are saved? My answer is, “I shall be!” God is still working and his presence has not been stripped from my mind so I know he has not given up. He will forgive as long as I can honestly admit I need it. He will wax me strong and he will guide me. He may tug a little harder sometimes when he knows I am tempted to go astray but he will not leave me. I only pray that I will never be foolish enough to leave him.

Yesterday is a dim reflection in my mind.
I see it only in part for much of it is now forgotten
As I desperately search for something to remind
Me of what transpired or things I had begotten.

Try as I may I cannot remember all my yesterdays
For there are too many and they went by too fast.
I know only that I could have lived them better in many ways
And though I would have saved them they could not last.

Why are my yesterdays so important to me?
Why do I not live my life faithfully using what I have learned?
Why do I not make myself as strong in the ways of the Lord as I can be?

I only know that even the moments I have not recollected
Are kept in a log book in God’s Holy Heaven.
It is these things of life upon which I will have reflected
Before I meet my Savior whose number is seven.

It is not important that I remember what happened thirty years ago.
It is more important that what I have learned I can maintain.
For when Jesus comes to gather us with his glorious glow
We will all be asked to search our souls and entertain.

Entertain the notion that although we are not perfect
It is important that we are able to say that we tried.
It is also important that we confess the times when we were derelict.
Upon doing so our entrance into his Kingdom will not be denied.
