It is a stairway to climb that road I travel on.

I must focus upon each step till my destination is won.

Salvation lies just beyond the Golden Gate.

I know I must keep moving; I have no time to wait.

I must stay on the path focusing on the light.

It shines ahead of me both day and night.

If I do not direct my whole mind, body and spirit to the source of that light.

I will find myself in darkness, wondering with no sight.

The light is the light of Jesus Christ who shines to guide me along.

He ascended into Heaven to prepare a place for me; to him I belong.

I fight the temptation to become sluggish and uncaring.

Jesus hung on that cross and it was my sins he was bearing.

He died on the cross so his light would lead my way.

To a home beyond the sky where there is no night or day.

I climb that hill and I trust in the Lord

I try with all my heart to follow his word.

One day when I least expect it I will see God reach forth his hand

To lift me from this path to that wonderful land.

For now, I can only say God is working with my heart.

He gives me the will for true love to impart.

I love those who hate me; I will love those who love me.

I will reflect his love for me so the world may see.

Jesus is salvation.  He gives eternity

He went to prepare a place so that where he is we might also be.
