What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:14-17)
If I pray to God and trust in God but ignore my brother’s pain
My faith in God has been misused and thus it is faith in vain.
If I claim to have salvation but do not help those who have nothing to eat
My faith is nothing to me and Gods will I do not meet.
If I do good deeds to simply find a place in paradise for eternity
I work for all the wrong reasons and it gives no comfort to me.
The faith God gives is like the mustard seed and if cultivated it will grow.
Thus comes the works because that seed has taken root because I will love my Master so.
So keep in mind my brothers and sisters that if you have one you will do the other.
Works do not earn salvation but with faith it is something to share with sister and brother.
