When I was young and full of myself I thought I could handle anything.
Now I have learned that my confidence was misleading for I knew not what my life would bring.
When I was young I thought I had all the answers to every question there could be.
Now I am older and realize that answers only open the door to more questions and it was this fact that I did not see.
When I was young I thought myself to be strong; competent and able.
Now I realize that my confidence was built on a foundation that was still unstable.
I had my life planned and was ready to fulfill those plans; of this I thought I was sure.
But life takes twists and turns and you must learn to turn with the road and I had to take a detour.
Am I sorry for my lot in life? My answer is absolutely not.
That detour was Gods’ way of giving me all the blessings, loved ones and things I have got.
The greatest lesson a man can learn is to be flexible and roll with the punches as he lives.
If he has truly learned to do this he receives the greatest gift in life that God so freely gives.
If you dare to dream; this is good but if the dream you dream does not come true
You will be a better man if you dare to dream another dream for there is no better thing to do.
When you drive down that long twisting road of life; be not afraid to heed that detour sign when you see it.
It is likely the dream you thought you had was simply leading you into a pit.
Trust the Master to guide you down the road and know his will is for your own good.
Not all of life is easy to take and is often not fully understood.
Live today for today!

Peace,
Dan
Detours, I believe, give you an opportunity to see things that you might not otherwise have had a chance to see or participate in. Sometimes my road has been bumpy, but God does provide the best shock absorbers.
Headed for a detour,
Kathy
