Sunrise, Sunset

The darkness relinquishes its hold and soon gives way,

Darkness gives way to the sunrise, singing birds and the beginning of day.

The moon bids us goodbye as it sinks in the west

It is preparing itself for a much needed rest.

The world all around us awakens with a sigh

We can watch as the birds take to the sky.

Today is the first day of all our tomorrows

These are days we look forward too with all their blessings and their sorrows.

As we arise in the morning we are unsure what may come to pass this day

And what may come to happen tomorrow we simply can’t say.

What we know is this is a day to live for this is our contest.

A challenge to live it to its fullest for this is our conquest.

Enjoy the sunrise and look forward to the sunset.

Live the joys of the day if not you will live with regret.
