A time of Harmonious Change

The month of August has bid us goodbye

White clouds float placidly higher in the sky

We sit and enjoy the evening breeze and feel the coolness

We calmly take a seat and simply take pleasure in the changing environment

September has come and with it a more submissive attitude and manner

You watch the trees which are preparing for the changing atmosphere

The entire world takes on a sense of inactive tranquility

The autumn is not yet willing to give into winter’s frigidity

Instead it lies in wonderful and ambient tranquility

Oh if this time of year could only last forever

But if this were so we would know spring flowers never

Nor would we enjoy the warm summer rain

Or know the beauty of snowflakes nor the different seasons refrain

So I suppose I will simply enjoy each as it comes upon me

I will thank God that he gives me each day to take pleasure and to be.
