I searched my soul and found it in need

For, I too often do not show love in commitment or deed

I am too quick to anger. That’s another problem I see

And I am slow to say, “I forgive” when someone offends me

I try to be perfect just as my Lord Jesus is faultless

But when I examine my soul if find it riddled with weakness

Oh Lord, I have sinned against you often and not followed your ways

Too often I have allowed my addictions and fixations

Lead me astray

Father, although I am lacking and showered in weakness

My prayer is a thankful one for I know your forgiveness

A great sincere poem. Forgiveness is hard but the leftover anger management baggage is even harder to lug around. These days I like to lighten up.
