A dove is cooing from a tree behind the domicile
The sun peeks over the mountains and I listen and watch and smile
There is dew on the trees that is caressed by a gentle morning breeze
The city has not yet wakened and the silence adds to the beauty one sees
I walk along slowly and gaze at the white clouds floating in the skies
And thank God for the wonderful show he puts on at sunrise
As the sun slowly climbs upward and soon becomes brighter
The skies in the west change hues and become lighter
The city soon begins to awaken and create a sound of its own
Thus I am reminded once more that I have not alone
But a part of life and of all God’s creation
I and the sun, moon and creatures thereon are a part of the father’s formation
Let us rejoice and live this and every day to show the Master our appreciation
I could not sleep last night, so I'll go for a morning walk right now to catch the sunrise!
Blessings,
Christine
They truly are; my favorite time of day to give thanks.
