Feel the October wind brushing brazenly through your hair
Think back to swimming in that mountain lake, frolicking with nary a care
Watch the autumn leaves turning into a collage of tints and hues
Watch the white fluffy clouds adorn the skies of blue
Let your mind wonder back to days of your childhood
Contemplate the place in your back yard where that oak tree stood
Think back to the games you played in those preschool years
The things that excited or caused glee, disappointment or fear
Remember your first day at summer camp
The first homerun you hit, Dad calling you champ
Remember the first girl you had a crush on
That girl grew up just and like you and now has moved on
The day soon came when you were embarrassed by a hug from you mother
There was that jumbled relationship between you and brother
As I look at the mountains through these tired old eyes I still see their beauty, sublime
It is still as if I am beholding them once more but for the very first time
Up close each leaf can be plainly seen as a beautiful object
But as I admire from afar it blends in with others to complete the panoramic project
Never grow tired of the beauty of our precious Mother Earth
The moments you spend are beyond all measures of worth
