This man has two immense spiritual necessities
I pray daily for Gods’ mercy to rescue me
My second need is a virtuous heart
One which gifts of the spirit will readily impart
But, alas I fear I need forgiveness most of the two
Because goodness to often is too hard to do
Oh, Lord if only I let goodness be my reality
I could live each day with clarity and integrity
But alas, too often I follow my own selfish desires
And pray once more to be spared from these self-made fires
Today, Dear Lord the goals I set for myself is to live with more integrity
And thereby waste less prayers asking for your clemency
