A bright light came to shine on the souls of men
But man could not withstand its brilliant gleam
For man had lived too long in transgression and sin
And failed to recognize that he was here to redeem
They mocked him and they cursed him and hung him on a tree
They were too possessed by the life they lived which subsisted in iniquities
For they had allowed physical desires to rule their hearts and minds
Desires that were infected with selfish passions of immoralities
But even as he hung upon the cross he cried out for their forgiveness
“Father forgive them for they know not what they do”
He prayed for the very ones who jeered his very distress
The world had never before known such abiding love
Love which was sent from our Heavenly Father above
That he loved the world so very much that he sent his only son
That who-so-ever believes him would be saved and their Earthly battle won
Let us praise his name
