Disparaging words can destroy ones ego
They can demolish his cheerfulness and make him feel low
But oh, the influence wielded by words of praise
They can turn dark gray skies into the sunniest of days
When you feel the need to give valuable advice
Remember to say it in a way that is nice
When trying to help a friend to improve his personality
Start by recognizing something about him that is complimentary
If you start by making him feel positive and confident
His mind will be open to words of encouragement
So be ye not critical but be supporting and gracious
Give your advice in ways that are up building and courteous
