We regard God as an airman regards his parachute; it's there for emergencies but he hopes he'll never have to use it. Author: C.S. Lewis

Poem Artwork

My child, why do you come to me when faced with difficulties?
Why do you not praise me for your all your life’s luxuries?

You cry, “Help me Father. Please save me, Father”
But when not faced with a dilemma you don’t even bother

For when things are well you give me little thought
But cry out to me when there are struggles to be fought

Why do you not praise me for the early morning sun?
Or thank me when each day is done?

You beg and plead for me to take your worries away
Why do you not praise me as you begin each day?

For I am with you always, shielding you from despair
You live your life knowing you are forever under my care

Why do you not realize that I walk with you always?
I will guard you from evil throughout your days

I ask you to dedicate your life to my only son
And praise him each day till your days on Earth are done

Actually, I do, Lew. Thank you for the reminder. Love and blessings to you,

Lew,

You remind us we must give thanks for our blessings. So many times, we yell, 'Help me Lord', how many times do we say 'Thank you Lord. A great reminder. God Bless

Mary

A very good question, indeed.

Nice poem. It is something we all tend to do - take Him/Her for granted until we feel a deep need for help. Sometimes the more difficulties we encounter, the more thankful we can be for those smooth sailing days.

This fine piece has a lot of logic in it. I myself when things are going great do not pay enough attention to the Lord.
This is an excellent testiment, Lew.

GOD BLESS YOU
TONY
