I'm always happy to hear birds sing
throughout the universe their message
rings, and when I see their flocks in
flight, the sky in motion with captivating
sight, their wings beating day and night
in seasonal migration to their destination
I smile with joy to know every hour, the
loving Creator is their source of power
and I can't help but marvel, their tiny brain
decipers thousands of miles to their domain
the mystery of God's creation boggles my
mind,no matter where I look I can always
find awesome beauty miraculously divine !
so many truly amazing gifts to wonder about Eillen -- we are blessed by God's endless assortment of creatures and objects large and small -- you describe those blessings with tremendous heart -- peace and love -- Jon Michael
"...and yet, we are all dust in the wind..."
How true, because we also migrate, with our soul as the final wind points the direction to a better place, to a better summer.
A fine ode, Eileen. Your verses made me think about the first black-headed grosbeak that I heard sing today. I was just thinking. It's probably just come up from down your way. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and best wishes,
The instincts of God's creatures is amazing for sure. My Bill used to have racing pigeons, sometimes flying from 500 miles away. It's a thrill to see them coming home to their own loft, tired out but right on target. A good poem about the mysteries known to God alone.

Eileen,
On a wing and a prayer, literally, your flying imagination is rich and joyful and full of the right wonder of the planet we're lucky to inhabit and share.
