California Burlington Chill
A shiver, so icy cold, it creaks bones,
Chilling a core being into vibrations,
Sending chills into deep sub consciousness,
Scraping feelings upon goose bump nerves.
Every movement haunting sounds moments,
Breezing ghostly fingers sensing presence,
Dropping temperature whispering silence,
Mirrored reflections looking back inside you.
Dark mirror of changing silvery shadows,
Altering backgrounds of Burlington mirrors,
So different right-angled looking glasses
Shifting with creaking haunted doors.
A silver, so icy strange, it shutters blinders
Blinding what the eyes sees in its reality.
Dare to look into the reflection of the other,
Feel your surrounding move around angles.
Oh haunted eyes of Burlington imagination,
What is behind those mirrored reflections?
Look deep within them to touch the other side
And let the lights go out, sneaking doors open.
Sending the big chill up backbone nerves
Upon haunting air conditioned temperatures.
Sweating out a jack rabbit, ready to bail spirit
As a gentle touch gives you the Burlington chill.
Note: I am in the Burlington Hotel, right on the Carquinez Strait, writing from its haunting breezes.

De-Terminated poet, somewhere in America not on company time
Through checking on the hotel I found Rod McEwen. Wondering if he had some association with that inspirational place.
