An open invitation to all poets! We've had so much fun on previous Halloweens, let's have a party. Become a charater and make your entrance at La Belle's Halloween Ball. I'll be there as Queen Of The Night, just look for my fangs. Won't you join me?

Halloween Ball
By La Belle Rouge

Come One Come All
to my Halloween Ball
We値l sing the songs of madness
while we howl at the harvest moon
And dance the dance of death
while the zombies play an off-key tune

We値l party, oh how we値l party hard
until the cows come home
Then we値l butcher and eat those creatures
Will be more decadent than ancient Rome

An undead orgy in the corner
A bloodbath in the powder room
For my ghoulish guests only the best
ritual wine neath a crimson moon

Come one come all and celebrate
at the annual Halloween ball
We値l scare all the trick or treaters
and make em on their mommies call

Dr. Frank with his new grotesque Adam
and Count Vlad will be there too
The wiley witches of the moores
will be serving us some brew

Be as beastly as you so desire
Take all the masks away
Perhaps the Dark Master himself
will appear before break of day!

Well now, this sounds like it is going to be a fun party. Of course I will attend. Since I live in Texas I might show up as the "real" wicked witch of the west" with my magic spells and cocker shells and last but not least my trusy flying broom!

See you there,
Karen

On my black steed I come that night
my sword and shield in place
a strong ale I drink in full
as I look for sweet enchanted face

I'll dance with all the fine damsels
especially Amber I'll take to the floor
Ms La Rouge I'll sweetly dance close
show her what dark knights are famous for

Near morning I'll ride into the dawn
a kiss from Amber and La Belle too
till next year I get invited to return
perhaps to dance with more of you?

So the cycle is complete

If not for a recent verse
I would show up in my hearse
Give a scream and a yell
to one called Labelle

Maybe when shades past a few moons
a new entry will be found
until then I will grind my axes
sharpen my knifes
and lance the postulate boils of the poetry world
by doing a tango of death at the ball

An excellent invitation, but to tell you the truth, LaBelle, I don't really celebrate Hallowe'en. I don't celebrate any holiday that takes precedence over CHRISTmas.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Good poem, though; always very well written!
