We traveled all over the West for years
that big, devilish cowboy and me
and you could fit into a baby’s shoe
all the things him and me didn’t see
Liked my whiskey straight from the bottle
and my strong lovin wild and sweet
and the one state I wouldn’t tolerate
was with any other woman to compete
Cause I was a one of a kind woman
and wouldn’t stand for no second place
Threatened if I ever caught him cheatin
I’d shoot the smile off that cowboy’s face
And then he’d laugh and say “Ah Belle,
you is all thunder and redheaded fire,
Suger you is too much woman for most
and you know you’re my only desire”
We rode into that lawless, dusty town
them whores was hangin out widows
at my fine man dirty talk yellin down
Guess it goes with a cowboy’s territory
but if they touched him I’d make em sorry
Then out of the corner of my eye I saw
him give a little wink to one called Fanny
I just let it go by but he’d better not try
to get too close to Fanny’s panties
I had a peacekeeper strapped to my thigh
and a knife slid down into my right boot
I was mean enough to make the devil cry
and I knew how to slice and to shoot
Fanny had better keep her distance
or her customers could find a new whore
Mess with my man, don’t give a good damn
Fanny’d find herself dead on the floor
