In Remembrance Of My Friend Deborah Who Passed Away This Week
Eternal Song

cold, so cold she lies, and still
while snow flakes blanket her
the rosy blush of youth is gone
silent night, holy night, all is calm
thick darkness cannot penetrate
the lids of her once bright eyes
those lips so pink, beautifully full
gray and closed in eternal silence
no longer to speak praises to God
I mourn secretly my “Once Friend”
cut off from those many who grieve
unable to embrace those who weep
I am as solitary as you are, sealed
inside secret confines of my heart
with the bitterness of unshed tears
silently I ache because you’re gone
leaving in your place an emptiness
in the lives of children and mate,
a sadness in the souls of all those
who have deeply loved then lost you
you were tired, much too exhausted
to shoulder the heavy load any longer
so now you sleep in heavenly peace
when your eyes closed on this place
did they open on the city of God?
do you walk garden paths with Him?
do you speak with Him face to face?
do you sing with the celestial choir
with that sublime voice that once
brought us all to worshipful tears?
No you are not cold, still nor silent
Jesus loves us....this I know and
the grave will not end our songs
while we mourn on earth, you sing
so sing a little louder, My Friend,
perhaps we'll hear your sweet voice
This is a wonderfully powerful tribute to a loved one,and although it was written to memoralize a particular person,its message can be applied universally, in many ways.

Tears roll down my cheeks as I remember losing a dear friend of my heart years ago; may you always keep her in your heart as I did my friend, she is never far from my thoughts. So beautifully written and heartfelt deeply within. This is truly a very lovely tribute to a beautiful soul who has passed. I send deep healing energy to you, sweet La Belle and to her family.
I tend to wallow in the dark recesses of the silence in this piece where the perfumed petals of fallen flowers lay in their mishmash pattern. The snow covers them but leaves them translucent to old memories that speak of the beauty of our lives intermeshed. I know that only the Creator can reassemble our cells in paradise regained someday soon for we are now returned to dust and in that place we know nothing nor see anything. There are those who still live on who can remember with fondness how we were touched and we can only hope that we will be remembered in the same way until our Creator revives us in his eternal love.
