VERY INSPIRING AND CERTAINLY, FOR MANY...TRUE! I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT I SEE MYSELF AS 'NOTHING'. AND THIS IS THE TRUTH. IN ALL MY RIGHTEOUSNESS...ALL MY STRENGTH, GUSTO, COURAGE,GRIT ETC...I AM A FILTHY RAG BEFORE GOD. AND YOU KNOW SOMETHING? I AM SATISFIED WITH THAT BECAUSE I REALIZE, AND AM CONTENT WITH THE FACT, THAT 'EVERYBODY' CAN'T BE ON TOP. THAT IS, A STRONG NOTABLE WARRIOR/SOLDIER. THERE IS A BOTTOM TO EVERY PYRAMID, A FOUNDATION...THAT BOTTOM, THAT FOUNDATION IS IMPORTANT...IT IS VERY NECESSARY. IT SUPPORTS THE TOP. AND I AM SATISFIED TO BE THERE. IT'S ALRIGHT BECAUSE...THIS PLACE IS NOT MY HOME. NOW, WHEN I GET HOME...THAT'S WHERE MY GLORY IS! THAT'S WHERE THIS BOTTOM-RUNG WARRIOR/SOLDIER WILL GET HER REWARD, HER CROWN, THAT'S WHERE I WILL SHINE FOREVER FOR MY LORD AND SAVIOR...ALL BATTLES WON! NOW, I NEED TO LET YOU KNOW...IT TOOK MANY, MANY ROADS AND MANY, MANY YEARS FOR ME TO GET HERE AND I AM NOT THROUGH TRAVELING YET. I THANK GOD FOR EVERY ROAD AND EXPERIENCE THAT BROUGHT ME TO MY KNEES AND HIS FEET. AND, I PRAY THAT THROUGH HIS MERCY AND GRACE I WILL BE GIVEN THE 'STRENGTH' TO STAY EXACTLY WHERE I AM IN HIM. FOR WHEN I AM WEAK...THEN AM I STRONG. I OFTEN TELL PEOPLE...I KNOW WHO I AM...I AM NOT A REAPER IN GOD'S FIELDS...I MERELY WATER. I AM A WATER BEARER. THE WORLD NEEDS PEOPLE LIKE ME, GOD MADE ME AND OTHERS LIKE THIS...FOR A REASON. ENJOYED THIS, POETESS. I DARE TO SAY SOME POTENTIAL, BLOOD AND GUT WARRIOR IS GOING TO TAKE THIS INSPIRING WORK AND FLY/FIGHT THEIR WAY TO THE VERY TOP OF THE PYRAMID, WHERE THEY BELONG. Wise words. In this case, targeted at the long-standing submission of women to second-class status, coming right down from the Bible and other edicts of man made my man. It's about time that the warrior women who got us this far get recognized.

Truly a life lesson is expressed through your verses, Belle. It sad that human nature seems bent upon waging war in order to "survive" and avoid becoming slaves. La Belle, you captured so well what so many believe and have faith in. I think a country song came out not too long ago with the lyrics of "You have to stand for something or you'll fall for anything." and your verses reminded me of it.
Our ancestors built your country and mine, they fought in wars and put down rebellions. Were they always right? Of course not but it was what they thought was best for their country and that is all we can do as citizens not only of our countries but of the world. Thank you for sharing...

In my mind, an effective metaphor. What's happening in America is disgusting. More and more I am hearing and reading a 'call to arms' for Americans who are fed up with what they see happening.
