I am free to be me, created in the image
of the one I call, “Father”
your words, your hate
pierce my heart so deeply
but I am still free, free to be me
enfolded in the love
of My Creator
You have called me vile names
but His Spirit reminds me
whatever you think of me
does not make me become
what you believe I am
I am free to be me
and thankful to abide in grace
grace, pristine snow, holy blood
where all my faults
and all my failures, all my sins
are not just seen and covered
but forgiven, forever forgiven
by the only one
who has the right to judge
I am not what you say I am
I am free, free to be me
beloved by The Father in The Son
I love you no less, never less My Sons
though your anger and accusations
cut me more deeply than I can bear
and your hate I can no longer endure
my love will still silently surround you
though my face you will nevermore see
and I will shelter under the wings
of The One who knows me
and loves me still
where I am free....free to be me
Like the bird and butterfly, free to fly
Love and forgiveness will always conquer hate…
Dignity, understanding and steadfastness abound in this poem…
Always be free to fly like the bird and the butterfy,
out of reach of harsh judgment…
People who call others vile names have issues within themselves that need resolving. The hatred also isn't relating to others either, although we think it is. That is why we need to surround them with love and understanding and make them realize we're always there for them no matter what the circumstance. I think you have done just that already.
These are moving perspectives, Susan, revelatory (to me) of the hope and the future all believers have in the Risen Christ. Hoping you fly free for many more years. Easter blessings. Regards. r

Beautiful!! I was just watching Jerusalem live stream of the burial places of our Lord Jesus who has risen as King of Kings at the garden tomb and where the beloved Mother Mary is at Mount Olives Cave. Gave me chills to think our God came from all that beautiful glory and unselfishly gave the gift of free passage opening the veil over all powers of hell! This Easter is particularly deeply meaningful because it gives us still hope our world war 3 can be stopped with love, prayers and hope because He is our only true hope~
Happy Easter La Belle!
So different from your other poems! I sense deep hurt that has a hard time going away. But you are right about being free to fly on your own. The more you do that the less the hate will haunt you. Spread your wings and fly like you do in your books and stories, always.
In "A Touch of Your Presence" are words that would inspire, encourage and strengthen one's soul when faced with challenges and difficulties and to know the awesomeness of God's power.
