Eternal Lovers

Eternal Lovers is about vampires in love. This is the conclusion of my previous poem where the male vampire seduces the woman. When the woman finally dies, she becomes the female vampire. The townsfolk want her to be killed, so they urge the male vampire (who was top in his rank and could roam the streets in the daytime camouflaged as a human) to kill her. They did not know this man was also a vampire when they urged him to kill this woman. So the poem begins with the male vampire looking down at the love of his life being urged by the crowd to put an end to the female vampire.

Lover of Darkness…
You lie here, looking
so beautiful, so sweet,
and so innocent!

Your dark hair
cascades across your silky shoulders,
gently resting on your breasts.
My heart pounds with desire,
I thirst for your kisses,
I hunger for your touch.

Lover of Darkness…
I want to hold you in my arms once again.
I want to taste the sweetness of your lips once again.
I want to feel the softness of your full bosom,
as I hold you near me once again.

Open your eyes, my love!
And let me look into your blue eyes…
those eyes so blue that speak of love so true ,
Please let me see them one more time…
before you eternally die.

As I hold both my arms up in the air,
clasping the pointed stake in my hands...
My tears overflowing, my heart shattering...
Breaking, with the fear for your pain!
Aching, with the thought of losing you!

"Bring it down! Bring it down! Strike!"
the crowd urges me.

Suddenly, I see you open your eyes.
Tenderly, with words of love you plead.
I no longer have the will to do it!
I drop the stake in front of me!
I turn around to face the crowd!
I growl, and show them my fangs!

In an awe-struck moment, the crowd realize that
I am a vampire too, indeed!

We hold each other tight
with our bodies entwine,
as we swirl ‘round and around.
I sense I can hear music inside of me.
Your dark hair flows beautifully in the air.

As we dance,
I feel our bodies rising, flowing...
Like two carefree nocturnal bats
we fly out the window
to explore the darkness unknown.

There is something of black magic in this one. The romance between the two vampires and their love for each other is well described in your beautiful verse! Well-done, Miss Sandie!

This is a great extension of your vampire poem. It truly shows the battle a vampire feels between evil and the remnants of his humanity. Very well done, Sandie. I applaud you.

Vampires have feelings too. At least they do in my book. Let the blood flow!

A romance made in netherland in between. I took notice of the blue eyes and pale skin probably caused by the lack of blood. But the poetry was great, the sentiment was too. I just couldn't get into the mythical wooden stake vigilantism that often got innocent people killed by enraged mobs.

I don't think nocturnal bats are carefree. They are in a fight for their life to get enough food to take back to their daytime abodes and for their young waiting there.
