The Seething Sage

This feeling just crawls into him: maladjustment, dis-ease;
A downward spiral of selfish self-deprecation and inattention to…well
E V E R Y T H I N G!
He sits under a willow tree to contemplate being
Buddha: master of thought and visceral wisdom and logic;
To know the feeling of inhaling serenity like a sage
And exhaling love like the song of a dove;
Eyes closed he imagines a world without
Conflict cunning constraints…
A world that doesn’t sow the seeds of fear to reap the tree of hate.
Eyes closed he smiles to see the world unscathed by human pathology of
Greed envy jealousy…
A world where even in the jungles of Africa
The animals are diplomatic and benevolent;
So much so that humans gather to observe and
Emulate this miracle of manners.
A world with plenty so that no one ever feels empty of
Fraternity sobriety antiquity…
A disparate world without disparity.
And so he opens his eyes to face reality;
He rises from the tree and beat off the dirt from his sanctity,
Looks around in a circular motion and
Takes a step forward for humanity.

But then I realized that you were perfectly describing the purity of philosophy that is Buddhist and far ahead of many forms of contemplation. I think the Dalai Lama and the Pope are on this track right now. Thanks for reporting it in such an informative and beautiful way.
Pure contemplation in a poem. Thoughts on the world, what it might be, what it could be, all through the eyes of the Buddha. I'll tuck this away for later.
