Poem Artwork

I am that which lures you into dark corners

You catch a glimpse of golden, silken hair

You follow hoping to see my face

Another glimpse of snow-white hand

Delicate and small gripping a single rose

Farther and farther into the night

Deeper shadows fall around me

As you catch another glimpse of a slender ankle

Clad in a deep red high heeled shoe

Matching cape and gown of red

You are now in the darkest night

Watching me standing there

Slowly I turn to look at you

Delicate porcelain skin, vivid black eyes

Blood red lips licked by a small pink tongue

“My Lady,” you say, “it is not safe to be abroad this eve

There are reports of disappearances of gentlemen

Who are well armed and brave.”

I look up at you and catch your eyes with mine

“You are totally enchanted with me

Nothing can draw you from my side

Nothing I do will cause you pain

You bow before me and as you start to rise

I lay my mouth upon your neck causing you to moan

As my teeth pierce the skin, you reach up to hold my head

Closer to your neck as I suck you dry.

You have been enchanted and no longer breathe

I am sorry my dear you will never rise again

Your blood has fed me well tonight

That's one hell of a way to go, but at least he was happy! To go happy into the night, what else can one ask for? I enjoyed every word and rhyme, a great fantasy of poetry, it tingles with high and lows, just like your music! All the best dear daughter of Dracula, and stay out of the sunlight! Jasmin Horst

Ahhh Ann, what a fine way it would be to go though, as a song from Meatloaf once quoted "will you offer your throat to the wolf who howls in the moonlight" might not to the wolf but you would be a true temptation I am sure.
