In the morning
I awake alone to the sounds of silence
and another rainy day – like any other day
except for a silly smile that creeps up
to the edge

of my heart
and gets out through the eyes, somehow
more alive than yesterday. And it amazes me:
the caress of your wild, wonderful words
spilled out

on page of me
as if there were no distance between us,
as if all that mattered was the wish, the dream,
as if we had not only felt but also become
the wind.
