Poem Artwork

            I
            lie down
full of you this night
and try
     try
to empty self
of day dreams.

          Wild winds
     dance...
hold on
     to late hour.

          You
          linger
holding closely
to me
     like covers
shielding from
what’s outside
     taking
          passion’s song.

            *

           I
            wake up
full of you this morn
and try
     try
to empty self
of night dreams.

         Dew drops,
     still…
open full
     this flower.

                      You
                      linger
          moving slowly
          through me
               like fingers
          massaging
          what’s inside
               aching
                    for so long.

I love the fantasy element in this, Dawn... I have read it that this is an unrequited longing, but I could be wrong. Either way, it is silkenly romantic and subtle, and it flows along so beautifully - like love's never-failing stream. You are one of several writer's that I know here who, I think, probably use visual presentation to maximum effect and to make a tangible contribution to the meaning of their work. Your poetry is always, without a doubt, ALWAYS excellent, Dawn, and I hope you never think otherwise!!! TY Kate xx
