A part of one's lifetime still strewn around the garage in boxes of memories. Those cannot be taken away even with the boxes removed. Enjoyed this write.

I Know this feeling...after my mom died my dad found new love too...and the new love became my best friend!!

I love daughter to father tributes - probably in part because I am a father of a loving daughter. Be this as it may, there is something very special about a daughter/father relationship.
We have friends on the Isle of Bute, just off the West of Scotland. They are a couple in their sixties. It is touching to hear Janet too fondly refer to her late father as 'Daddy'. One could almost hear the distant, little girl's voice inside break through.

This is a truly loving write for someone who cares so much for their father that they want to see him happy in life. Often children are resentful of parents who remarry but you happiness for your father glows in this write. Puttin aside the effects of someone you need is quite difficult but it sure helps to have your kind of support. He is blessed to have you for his "little" girl.

A nice poem, CJ. Even pain cannot inhibit one's life from moving forward. Love is such a strong need in all of us, it is a vehicle that helps us travel out of the past.
