If I’d Seen

I see the flowers
By the stream, a huge bouquet
I see the trees
Along life’s roadway
Imagine what I would have seen, if I'd 'seen'


The smile upon your face
As you stare into inner or outer space
Your eyes are glazed
Seemingly unfazed
Imagine what I would have seen, if I'd 'seen'


Visiting the animals at the zoo
The Panda eating bamboo
The birds flying in the aviary
Soaring beautifully
Imagine what I would have seen, if I'd 'seen'


And, so I go through life
With my head in the clouds
Stumbling and grumbling about the crowds
Just another of the ‘wildlife’
Imagine what I would have seen, if I'd 'seen'

I was there and knew it not. You relate this dramatic mistake all of us humans make. Being there, and yet, not aware. Are we really any smarter than our animal friends? Great write. Jon Michael Willey

Definately very good insights in this delightful poem, Kathy. How often we look/see without really seeing. 'Tho it seems the longer I live, the more I really "see", and it's beautiful.

Brilliant..Makes me think of how God talks to us, if we listen... Be it in a tree, flower, smile, etc...

The more one looks the more one sees, feels and hears..
