Their Mark in History

You want to make them laugh and want to lift your spirits too.

Which sometimes is tough, a task at times impossible to do.

Sometimes your sense of humor gets entangled with discord.

Sometimes your spirit leaves awhile or sometimes it gets bored.

So when you can’t inspire them please be patient if you can.

For there is much going on in this world and our beloved land.

Some want to argue and criticize every thing you do and say.

Which brings you down & throws you into a deeper disarray.

Instead of trying to lift someone, they attack those who do.

Only assault or negativity is what comes barreling through.

You pray for them constantly and it drains your very soul.

They care not for others feelings & cruelty takes a toll.

For once the words are out there, they can’t be erased,

They found their mark in history and cannot be replaced.

Try hard to block them out and pretend they don’t exist.

But keep your guard up when they throw that second fist.

You must keep on searching until you find your way.

To bring back your laughter and inspiration every single day.
