Tender Moments

Days were endless
nights were filled with dreams,
you were the boy down the street
who played with me by the stream.

Skipping stones
would dance and plop
chattering of babble
was endless and none stop.

Giggles and laughter
spilled from our lips
our heads bent awkwardly,
tenderly we had our first kiss.

Each day afterwards
you would run for my door
smiling from ear to ear
you would kiss me once more.

Then one-day I had to say goodbye
we were moving and I started to cry,
you held my hand and wiped my tears dry
then gently kissed my cheek and told me goodbye.
