When my life is through I will wait for you

A short poem for my wife Susan

We are told that we will find Heaven when our life is through.

 

 

I however I have found Heaven when I first met you.

 

 

 

 

If I leave this earth before you , I will wait for you.

 

 

 I will be at the pearly gates to wait for you.

 

 

 

 We will walk through together and Heaven will be ours again.

 

 

 

 

 

 If you leave this earth before me you will take the heaven that is on earth with you.

 

 

 

But then heaven will come again when my life is through and I can be with you.

This poem reminds me of my grandparents, and some of my other Italian relatives, who were so devoted to their loved ones, husbands or wives. Sometimes, I hear an Italian saying that they do not fear death, as they will be reunited with their husbands, wives, or family members. Your poem captures devotion and faith beautifully.

Tuchy, I wrote a poem about Heaven yesterday too. You might wish to read it. Yours is better and says it all. I like all the words and now I know my Tom is will be at the pearly gates too to welcome me home when my time comes. You have given me hope and assurance in this write. Thanks

She will be go through the Heavens door and waiting for me, if she goes first.
If I go first, I hope I don't disappoint her if I am not waiting there, because they didn't let me go through.
