No Other Way

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Labored love finds only complexities and false pride, while its purity knows of something else. On this day of love’s contemplation, I’m wishing all as fortunate a find of purity in their mate as I, for there is no greater reward.

Poem Artwork
No Other Way
by Odin Roark

Because there is a gentle pause of breath,
a narrowing of the eyes to see past the shadows,
the fragrance of peace without effort,
the feel of air as cool or warm as needed,
and sadness once shouted become melodies heard,
such becomes the sheltering nature of being love,
a sunlight that knows the dark only as tranquility,
an inner smile knowing no other way.

Love feels not a definition by others,
for something so personal,
has only its own understanding.

Everyone views love in their own way. I certainly love the way you view it.

I'm in love with those surrealistic images you always post. If I could only afford to buy originals of those to hang in my meager collection, I would be ecstatic.

I have been grappling with a poem about love recently, but it is still unfinished. Can't quite seem to sew it up. But this, today of all days, perfect, as is the title. Capturing the indescribeable. "No other way" to describe it.
