Closure of family disappointment, hurt, loss—relentlessly hold on until… (Image by shin kwangho)

Poem Artwork
Anger’s Plight
by Odin Roark

One’s inner clouds
render cushions of comfort.
Rain becomes a cleansing
internal sweat asking to be understood.

Amidst this crushing unconscious duplicity,
children might say, “What happened?
These big people are so unpredictable.
Why are they trying to be so nice all of a sudden?”

Accepting anger is resolve's first step.
Feelings begin to move toward normal.
Impressions are more accepted
for what they truly are:
impressions,
points of view,
arguably, variations of “Kramer vs Kramer”

Yes

When anger finds its source,
love/hate merge as one,
seeking not some desperate anchor,
but merely the act of mutual consciousness awakening,
recognizing differences,
as layer upon layer of experiences,
vying for acknowledgement and acceptance.
not angry battle.

Interesting, this bomb on a timer…

Void of fuse, but an explosion of emotion ticking off “control’s” time,
hoping to find its destiny…
regardless of gender.

At such time, one must respect the decision.
After all, one can live only one life, not two,
at least in this iteration of existence.

there is a certain distance between a moment of getting external irritation and expression of one's anger. That distance is crucial in the way of personal developing/cultivating. Again, don't forget the fact that the liver plays the main part in the process. A good try to curb the poem subject's ego. Cheers, alex

I find this a highly personal bit of expression. Fortunately, my divorce did not involve children and was generally quite benign and mutually agreeable. But I can understand the feelings of children in situations like divorce where much may be at stake regarding loyalty and love… Sometimes resulting in almost unnecessary, anger.

Mutual consciousness awakening an exemplar idea that is sometime difficult to achieve. Anger usually puts people at the opposing end of the spectrum by virtue of its implicit emotion. I like you take on it. John

Your poem unravels the mind, unlike the duality of heart it expresses, words can and do, clear the path for understanding, in the end. Thanks for sharing Odin,
