Fallacy's Flatulance

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Those who think and hold their opinions close to the breast know when not to speak. Then, of course, there are those who only hear their own voice. Note: Having been corrected by a horticultural mind far further informed than me, I’ve sought out a more proper weed to compliment the poem. According to Wikipedia, the plant, “Artemisia tilesii, is aromatic, with a scent that inspired the common name "stinkweed" but is considered agreeable to some people.” Makes you wonder what “people” are drawn to its aroma.

Poem Artwork

Fallacy’s Flatulence

Weeds grow like crops.
imagining themselves as desirable flowers

 in a garden to fantasize,

plant,

irrigate,

and quickly sprout,

prematurely beaming their vagary as reality,
discerning not the fiction
from the facts,

denying actuality

as trickery.

I hear you, and I know of whom you speak.

But you hurt my feelings about the Canadian Thistle pictured. I know they are very helpful for the honeybee who thinks of them as the wonderful food source and perhaps, the Monarch Butterfly, endangered by the slaughter of Milkweed, their primary food and reproduction source.
