Fusing Health and Prosperity

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Besides Pfizer shipments to major cities and the beginning of inoculations today, other vaccine developers who have already reported promising phase III trial results against COVID-19 estimate that, between them, they can make sufficient doses for more than one-third of the world’s population by the end of 2021. But many people in low-income countries might have to wait until 2023 or 2024 for vaccination, according to estimates from the Duke Global Health Innovation Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Fusing Health and Prosperity

Amidst the puzzle,

Buried long amidst fear and repression,

A nation gazes at television screens in wonder:

So many appear of like mind.

So many appear of like purpose.

So many seeming insistent on freedom of choice.

Where is rational insistence?

Not all are of like mind,

For too many remain trapped,

Clamorously choosing to remain selfishly self-determinant.

Yet the mind,

Its purpose,

Its freedom,

Its health,

Rests little on the trappings of fear.

It should be obvious to all

That these delusional deniers of vaccines

Are not unlike those of us with rational health and prosperity needs,

Save for their proclaiming allegiance to ignorance,

Sending misinformation for all to hear,

Promoting that the denier population can also exponentially grow

For now

Our glistening ducts emit but muted cries down the face of truth,

forming tears of quiet pain,

Even as we rejoice

At the tenacity of the health workers’ vigilance.

Lest we forget

To gain immunity,

To hold a job,

To see power-abuse destroyed,

To build a life imbued with love,

Free from repression and exploitation,

Such is the goal of man's conundrum made active,

Fusing health and prosperity.

Such a wonderful thought summed up in that last stanza of merging health and prosperity for all. There should not be a hierarchy comes to treatment except the severity of the injury or illness, so well done by triage without the influence of ignorance.

Illness has been around since the beginning of time. It has been met by straightforward treatment and by mythological mumble jumble to make the mind feel good but not heal the body. The same kind of mythical mumble jumble that has been used placate the prosperity impoverished worker for the rich.

The results you showed in your poem are that so many refuse the cure and continue to spread the virus or bacteria until the cure reaches the farthest of us in society from wealth. Inordinate and numbers of them die early.
