Cowardly Silent

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

How ephemeral and timid at times, this thing called honesty. Silence is arguably unforgivable. (Image by Newsweek)

Poem Artwork

Cowardly Silent

Avoiding corners of mind
silence creeps with shadowed footsteps into vacuous darkness
knowing not why it roils
why unfulfilled by what eyes can only see
Ears can only hear

Mind

Where touch translates linguistic magic
And fragrance floats like translucent etchings
where whispered echoes quietly remind mute expressions
that the brush learns not the canvas save for pigment and oil
nor does the melody of thought
reach witness without song

So too

A voice without sound
is but a lonely vessel
adrift an endless sea of synapse and lightning
where silence resides as temporary vacuum
unwilling to be the moment of truth best left behind

Unheard echoes drift toward days unchartered
awaiting fleeting chances made conscious
knowing such moments are but for seizing

if only the outgoing POTUS allows his dastardly silence

to awaken with apologetic honesty

An interesting take on silence and one that is fully justified in this insightful poem. "A voice without sound is but a lonely vessel" indeed!
