I am Medicine Flower, A-wo-di A-tsi-lv s-gi, named for the healing spirit of the warrior. Named for the berdache soul that caresses me. My touch blesses the wanderer, the lost and the fearful, and gives respite to the weary and the pained. My bloom is on the morning frost and the fiery sundown that kisses the distant hills and scarecrows. Look into my face, my soft orange petals, the daisy bright and the millet yellow. As you pass, ask me the way and I will tell you, for I am Medicine Flower. I cling to the porch at daybreak and trumpet with the morning glory.
