She has a look that is never directed at you
Yet it hints of a story that you need to know more about
She walks with a grace unlike any other
You prefer to see her without makeup
You visualize awakening and her face is the first thing you want to see
She is kind to animals
She sets her own pace and always knows her limitations
Her hair could not be more perfect for her face
She is sultry and mysterious
She is not glamorous but dresses impeccably
Her eyes sparkle
She has the most interesting mouth you’ve ever seen
Even her ears excite you
Your mind races through what a week on a deserted island would be like with her
And you know you would relish every moment
Her hands and her feet are incredibly sexy
When she smiles you memorize that look
She hums a tune and you look up the words to the song
She knows how to make the most of what she has
You feel certain she loves sunsets, moonlight walks, and romantic dinners
You would prefer a look, a glance, a smile from her over almost anything else
You ask to take her to dinner, and she says “yes”
You take her to the quietest, most romantic place in town
You stammer and stutter, and she laughs
You tell bad jokes, and she laughs
You ask if she likes smooth jazz, and she says “yes”
You ask if she likes romantic poetry, and she says “yes”
She takes your hand as you leave
Your hand tingles
Your mind sizzles
Your heart thumps
Your breath quickens
Oh yes, she’s the one
Either that or you’re dying…
I know someone just like that, Edward; and you've got my heart beating a lot faster as I think of her than before I began reading your verses. Thank you! Love and peace to you,
Everyone craves for a little risk..a bit of uncertainty...a little play time
to give life a sense of adventure....And...there is nothing that the true
poet....in you Edward..would not brave for a great poetry sake...but
in this poem...you pay "a little more" attention😀...to the adorable image
of Her and an amazing relationship...filled with trust...promise and deep
emotions...
Your astoundingly weaved poem shows two people able to establish
a good rapport with each other's feelings...allowing the vulnerability to
shine...be a source of their strength...as in silence...they walk between
the ardent words of passion and traditional...manliness...with enlightening
metaphors...breaking down His defences...bestow upon the reader a poem
of depth...a poem of true romance...too often overseen or/and lacking
the contemporary dating scene...
It's always OK to use a heart as a guide...she walks this earth...
Thank you for sharing your poem.
if that is dying, mr. Phillips, then i wouldn't mind plunging in my death bed again and again.. the perfect mattress with the softest pillow, and the sweetest lullaby playing.. a violin maybe.. or a cello, could be a guitar coz grandpa loved playing those.. whatever it is, the end product of the experience is a version of you loving another human being.. and that's what matters.. :)
Ron: What a mood killer you are! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. She can be ugly as sin, but if you (the reader) see glorious and wonderful things in her, that's enough. Now go back to bed and get up on the other side before I make a phone call to you know who...
A real romantic with impossible requirements for the woman of one's dreams. Does she exist?
One only has to watch Naked and Afraid to find out what a week on a desert island really would be like… What really happens is about as far from romantic as one can get.
