I remember the first time we met
You were different in a most enchanting way
You literally glowed with a natural beauty.
You were dressed so modestly
But your perfect body added the kind of touch
That only a discerning masculine eye can detect.
Oh I knew that you were special.
As I drew near your fragrance enveloped me
And numbed my mind with the sting of love.
I might have said it pierced my heart
Like Cupid’s arrow but it was beating too fast.
And my other senses were succumbing to you—
Your walk, the way the sun glistened from your face
Were totally different from all those around you.
And when I saw your shapely rear end
My fantasy meter pegged at the high end.
I must have looked like a school boy
Caught in the act of falling in love.
Your hands your arms even your feet
Were softly tanned and they emitted pure sex.
Nature closed the deal with your fabulous face:
So innocent, yet so disarming in its search of
All things interesting in your new surroundings.
Yes, this was your first day in a long journey
Of becoming the mature, loving person that
You were meant to be reaching out
Beyond reason that would capture my heart with
No chance of ever going back to what it was.

...arguably the most romantic-sensual-intense
poem which celebrates the physical features
of romantic attraction...from the first prick
of Cupid's arrow...Poem, that resonates with
anyone who's desperately trying to articulate
the one of most important of human feelings...
Its hauntingly beautiful words and simply imagery
of the woman's charm and elegance make this poem
both...accessible and timeless...
Thank you, Edward for sharing your verse.
A clear picture of lust taking over. Only in this case, something made it more than lust in the long run. From what I can tell, she did not change… you did.
In any case, I hope she takes your poem as a compliment of her superior intelligence and personality.
He needs a wife. She needs a reason to trust him. He fell for her at first sight. She, not so much.
