The Final Victory
There comes a time in many lives
When good enough is good enough
When structures fall
and features blur
and what might have been
no longer applies--
When all the promises of
pomp and circumstance
carry little grace.
It is a moment of truth
that carries with it the
need to stop dreaming
and to face the final days
with gratitude for
what was
what is
and what will be.
When aches and
pains do not heal
and promises made
consume your brain
and your thoughts
and your soul.
There is little grace
to be found.
They say the good
die young;
and you agree.
A pill for this
and one for that
and soon you
are a pillage.
You look to the skies
with a different
point of view.
It is no longer a case
of good will
but one of do
or die.
If you can find
the energy
you muster it into one
final aggregate.
Someone wiser said
it well:
Be ashamed to die
until you have won
some victory for
humanity.
You hope that yours
will be enough.
You have made major contributions in your articles about how to run the United States treasury fiscally responsible. As the century moves on, your ideas will resonate with many trying to come to grips with the US economy and even the world economy. Rest assured, your legacy is already out there with your many contributions.
Ron
and especially the final verse…
If our hearts were always full of our
sincerest intentions, I feel that as an individual…
this truly counts…
I hope there is significantly more
Grace still to be had…!
This poem certainly provoked my thoughts today…
