Simple is the spider’s web that weaves itself
at the end of all my emotions.
Your words struck deep
into pride’s unsuspecting pockets,
that now felt the bruises.
Behind me the door slammed
I found myself standing on the platform
staring down the track
anticipating the bright glow of a single light.
It pulled me from the other side in a blink
screeching to a stop
sparks could be seen in the night
The steam from the big diesel
billowed around me.
An old conductor man
a suit with a time piece clinched in his hands,
he looked over his wire rimmed glasses
when I boarded the train.
The dining carriage, shaking and rocking
another tunnel, lights off and on
Clarity in the next tunnel, another sip of coffee
I thought I saw you standing in the tree line.
Your silk burgundy dress and red fingernails
enough to light this night.
Hollowed out traces of music around you
sliding back and forth, I have been here before
looking on in awe.
Your sisters wedding brought me to my knees.
You seduced me for eternity and left me helpless.
I emptied my pockets into your life.
each move passing into another moment
as your silk dress slid against my body
laying naked against a black sky
there and then I wanted you.
The blinking light on the alarm clock startled me
I found you lying close
the contours of your body beckoned me.
Feel my chest on your back
the warm wet softness of my lips pull at your ear
spiraling downward to every spot and open pore
answering to all I have to offer
I have awoken in the love of a lion
as you minister sweet submission
against the black sky
I move with my hands and catch with my eyes
Speaking clear and loud with my heart
Forgive the Night
Forgive the Night
Your moans tighten
these strong arms around you
clash is the sunrise
to the years of eternity
that milks the bitter green spring
flowing from anger and solitude.
Passing away like your burgundy silk dress
falling to the ground around you
the black sky turns to blue.
Leave those bitter words behind us
and ride with me again
on the Central Line.
