What is the command code that binds Santhosh Damodaran, Anil_ Babu, Rajan kiriyath, KM Ubaid, S Ramesh, Geethu Mohandas and Mukesh; yes; you guessed it right! The Vacation hit movie which is running all over kerala, is non other than, Santhosh Damodaran “Pakal Pooram”. The movie Pakal Pooram is a children’s entertainer is perfectly amended title. The usual masala Malayalam movie with the exception of, a touch of horror, added to it makes it unique. A perfect story line by Rajan Kiriyath has taken into shape and form, in the magical hands of Anil-Babu the duo directors of Malayalam. To this day their carrier stands as example, the crazy passion for making movie for the masses. The movie depicts all the characteristics traits of “Hit Movie”. The songs pictererised in this movie reminds us more of north Indian setting than a normal soft Malayalam movie songs. P C Monahan’s editing also make the songs very captivating.
The movie opened in Trivandraum, Cochin, Kottayam, and then made its gradual way around the state of Kerala. The producer Mr. Damodaran reasons out for the not so, enthusiastic opening of the movie to a perfect reasoning. There was once and could be still, an art in opening a film gradually and letting its own fame build up on the enthusiasm, understanding and discovery with the viewers. The story, which moves around supernatural and magical powers, has comedy to the last moment, which is skillfully added, to the script.
The story was set in Sooryamagalam. Brahmadattan Namboothiri has, tamed and contained and evil spirit, years ago, before being tamed the evil spirit has vowed, vengeance on his family, by killing his son.30 years later, his youngest son, Gauridasan (Mukesh) reaches back to the house unexpedly and his mission was to restore the dignity of him mother and to, claim to his paternal lineage. The event takes a twist here, and he has been assigned to tame the very spirit, which his famed had contained in the Sooryamagalam. In turn he meets Seemathini (Geethu Mohandas). This relationship is the crux of the story, which decides the flow of events that follows. He fails to tame the evil spirit and returns home with seemandini, and the matters never ends there for him, he has so much more in store for him.
Santhosh Damodaran makes a mark of his own with the his début movie production Pakalpooram. He is a, successful businessman from Dubai, who deals in Real Estate (property Management and consultancy). His Carrier started all the way from Delhi where he was into Fashion Industry. His multi dimensional personality has urged him to expand his horizon. He moved into Real Estate and settled himself to quite life. He is not only great business man but also has great personality, which, fetched him quite a good circle of friends in and out of the film industry. With the encouragement from friends and family, he decided to expand his business into celluloid. He made 3 serials for Dooradarshan in 1991. 2 of them released and another one yet to be released, directed by Lenin Rajendran. PakalPooram is stepping-stone to the big screen, under the Banner of Damor Cinema. He credits all his success to one single person, whom he admires and idealizes, in life, and “his blessings are always with me”, Santhosh, goes sentimental with these lines. Santhosh belong to Trivandraum, and his parents, are there with his elder brother and 2 sisters who are married. His wife Rajasree is and Architect by profession and, these couple have a, son named Sidharth, whom, Santhosh hope to leave the legacy of his father some day. Mr. Damodaran has major plan to expand himself into, the Audio business, in India and abroad as well.
His next project is also with the Duo directors Anil-Babu. Starting from 25th August. The script by T A Razak has a very dynamic cast list, kalabhavan Mani, Innocent, Jhagathy Sreekumar and Harisree Ashokan and female lead is yet to be decided. They expect, the movie to reach the theaters by Pooja holidays.
