!972 was an eventful year for me, you see it was my first melt down. Even before the death of Beverly. I quit my job and lived hermit style. I no longer could live in my expensive home because I had become destitute. I had to move into a 19th century home in the Bronx NY. The home was cheap but had a past.
That past was horrifying.

I just read your paragraph, "Just the Start." I was written in Sept 2011. Well, how are you doing so far?
Several years ago, I wrote about my first wife who died of cancer. She lived three years knowing her life would be over soon. She was 37 years old when she died. I wrote a short story about her called, "A Slice of a Short Life." I held off for 20 years but I finally finished it. It was like giving birth to a baby (I can only imagine).
Then I posted it on the den. That story received more hits than anything I have ever written. More important, writing it helped to purge the hurt and pain I went through all those years. People are not always so kind and I expected more support from her relatives. They came by a little too late. Forgiveness was tough but I had to forgive in order to move on with my life.
So it's never too late to write your story Tony. That's what this Den is all about. We suppose to support one another. So just pick a time when you want and put a few lines on paper everyday. At the end of one year you will have a personal masterpiece. Then you can refine it and add to it a little spice like a making a good pizza. Put it into the oven (post a chapter on the den) and you will know when it's ready for the world to taste.
You can do it one day at a time. In the end you will be a better person for it and you will be able to go forward with your life.
